Junge wilde Malerei – 1984

The term Junge Wilde (German for wild youth) originally applied to the art scene of the 1980s. The so-called Jungen Wilden rebelled against the establishment. Their expressive painting was characterised by bright, intense colours that were thrown with quick brush strokes onto the canvas. Important representatives are: Rainer Fetting, Helmut Middendorf, Salomé, Albert and Markus Oehlen, Martin Kippenberger, Werner Büttner, Peter Bömmels, Walter Dahn, Jiri Georg Dokoupil, Sigfried Anzinger, and Martin Disler.
